Meet Chipper: Surprise Guest at Willard Veterinary Clinic!

We recently had a surprise guest at Willard Veterinary Clinic. Someone found an injured squirrel at the Home Depot across the street from the clinic. We think it was just stunned from falling out of a tree. So, of course, we took it in and gave it some water and food. We then sent it to the New England Wildlife Center to take care of an injured leg.

We named it Chipper! If you find a wild animal that is injured, Dr. Connolly recommends that you call the animal control officer and, if at all possible, do not touch it. We know it’s tempting, but it could be sick or injured, posing a danger to you or the animal. Here are some other tips from the Humane Society if you find an injured, wild animal:http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/resources/tips/injured_orphaned_wildlife.html
